My Vison
I’ve always believed that design can profoundly influence our everyday routines. Before founding monocromo Design Studio, I spent years honing my eye for detail and deepening my understanding of people’s interaction with their living spaces—the way layouts shape movement and daily rituals, how subtle shifts in proportion create a sense of openness or intimacy, and the balance of materials and light that makes a space feel effortlessly lived in.
From the start, my goal has been to create a practice where every project feels deeply personal. Rather than applying a fixed style, I take the time to understand your vision, priorities, and practical needs, shaping each detail to suit your home and way of life. Over time, I’ve found that balancing timeless aesthetics with cost-conscious, thoughtful solutions leads to the most meaningful results—whether revitalising a home in the London M25 area or refining a rural cottage elsewhere in the UK.
While my work often features clean lines, restrained palettes, and natural textures, these elements are always shaped by your preferences. Whether you’re planning a home extension to accommodate a growing family, a new build, or a deep retrofit to enhance energy efficiency, I approach every project with curiosity, care, and a commitment to creating spaces that feel balanced, comfortable, and enduring.
Mindful Environmental Approach
I prioritise designs that balance environmental care with resource efficiency. This is particularly valuable when working with a variety of UK homes, from period properties—Victorian terraces and 1930s houses—to modern developments. By integrating renewable energy solutions, high-performance insulation, and responsibly sourced materials, I help reduce energy use and long-term costs while maintaining the character of your home. I also provide specialist retrofit services, enhancing a building’s thermal and energy performance while preserving its architectural integrity.
Built for the Future
A well-designed home should stand the test of time—both structurally and in the way it supports life’s evolving needs. By focusing on durable construction, adaptable layouts, and enduring design principles, I create homes that remain practical, efficient, and inviting for years to come—economically, environmentally, and architecturally.
Beyond work
Outside of work, I find joy in simple, everyday moments. Cooking dinner for my family is one of my favourite ways to unwind—it’s both a creative outlet and a chance to slow down after a busy day.
I also love walking with my dog, Bery. Yes, just one “r,” almost like a berry but more like a bear. She’s a Labrador and a constant source of energy and amusement, even in the office.
Spending time outdoors is another passion. Whether hiking through the woods, following a river’s path, or simply being near water, I find nature both grounding and inspiring. I love the ocean too, even if I’m more of an observer than a swimmer.
